Product vision

XWiki Workspaces is a powerful yet easy to use collaboration solution. It is organized around the concept of spaces. Every user is provided with a personal space where he can store & organize his information. Users can also create work spaces where they can invite their coworkers to work together and share information about specific topics & projects. Each space can have the following applications: Wiki, Blog, Photos, and Files. Other applications might be added in the future, but the main idea is to Keep It Simple, and not to clutter the wiki.

Should I use XWiki Workspaces or XWiki Enterprise?
XWiki Enterprise is a fully-featured and extensible wiki, designed for application development and for generic needs. XWiki Workspaces on the other hand is a more focused product that allows easy team collaboration setup through private and public spaces. If you do not need the extensibility, but just the easy collaboration, you should consider using XWiki Workspaces. If you want to take advantage of all the advanced features of the XWiki Platform, then XWiki Enterprise is a better choice. Of course, under the hood Workspaces is based on Enterprise, and with some work you can get the same extensibility, but this is not the goal of this product.
